Traffic Counting Solution
Norwegian municipalities are seeking more economically sound ways of measuring the real effect of their initiatives and changes with respect to road traffic, type and time.
AIA has developed machine learning solutions using video analytics for counting vehicles, people and other objects that pass through a given area. This is a very cost-efficient solution that can be trained on extracting customer-specific features, such as the type of vehicle or whether the person is walking or on a bike. AIA has also a network of IoT partners that can deliver RFID/NFC solutions or other types of sensors for detecting moving objects or people.
AIAs solutions can run on low-cost commodity machines and cameras without the need for specialized custom hardware or more expensive cameras. This dramatically cuts the cost by 70-90+ percent of setting up a traffic counter, allowing also the deployment of measurements in more places and much better and redundant input for analysis.
Traditional law firms feel a real margin squeeze due to increased competition and competitors applying new technologies to speed up contract handling, revision and production. Manual ways of reading and writing contracts are too costly and error prone and do not exploit the current advances in technology and AI type models.
AIA Science is currently working with partners and law firms to develop new tools for efficient legal contract review and contract production. Instead of reading every new contract from top to bottom, machine learning algorithms are used to detect contract anomalies and potential risks that require human attention and approval. Through the interaction with this system over time, the system is adapting and learning to separate important passages from less important ones.
By utilizing our solution, we estimate that 20-40% of the time spent is saved already when starting to use the software. With more experience, about 90% of the contract revision time can be saved for contracts that are quite aligned with the standard. This can lead to higher margins, faster handling times and increased market penetration through better pricing.
The road transportation of certain goods is time critical, such as the timely delivery of fresh fish from norwegian fisheries to international markets, within a guaranteed time frame. Failing to deliver on time can lead to huge losses, and a critical element is the transportation by trucks from the fisheries to the international airport, especially during winter.
AIA Science is developing new solutions for constantly monitoring and analysing the state of transportation routes, so that transportation times can be predicted, road management can be optimized and the causes behind delays can be understood, detected and prevented. We use machine learning algorithms for analysing video streams and IoT sensor streams as a basis for predicting and driving decisions for the transportation companies.
Through continuous machine-based monitoring and machine learning algorithms, the fisheries, transportation companies and road authorities get an optimal solution for ensuring timely delivery of goods and ensuring early prevention of problems that can cause important losses. For the transportation companies, this reduces risk and cost while ensuring that the fishing can be planned just in time an optimal high-quality delivery to the market.
Efficient vertical farming with AI
Traditional farming is a resource-intensive activity. Large amounts of water and energy for transportation of agricultural produce are wasted and the negative impact on the environment from pesticide and fertilizer usage is hardly sustainable. Harvesting unripe fruits and vegetables, because of long distance transport routes from farming field to consumer, results in sub-par food quality being delivered to the consumer.
Vertical farming aims at moving food production close to the consumer and cuts the time between harvesting and consumption down to mere hours. A new generation of closed systems for growing plants drastically reduces the need for pesticides and slashes the water usage to a fraction of what traditional methods require. AIA Science develops in collaboration with BySpire monitoring and control systems that use artificial intelligence to optimize growth rate and quality through continuous control and adjustment of all growth system parameters. Video analytics based on machine learning algorithms continuously assess the generated biomass, its state of maturity, and detect at an early stage the onset of disease or other problems.

Social Media Trend Analysis
Many consumer companies are not aware about how, by segment, their consumers react to different social media postings.
AIA Science set up an algorithm to analyse social media postings, matching with name analysis, to determine patterns, future predictability, and breakdown by sex and age group.
Clients get a better understanding of how different age groups react to social media postings. Clients can then target their social media campaigns and activities far better. If linked to actual sales data, they will be able to measure the social media impact on revenue as well.
